Title: The Wright Family of Wold Newton in Cars
Author: Robert Harrison, Photographic Artist, 'Lincoln House', 69 Westboro', Scarboro'
Date: A December 2017 scan of an original c1910 photograph

A wonderful, early motoring photograph showing the Wright family of Wold Newton Manor with cars.

The photograph was taken in the stable yard. The larger car is a Humber 12 HP with Parsons Wright in the driving seat and his mother in the back. The smaller car is a Ford Model T with an unknown lady driver, possibly Parsons Wright's sister Margaret. Both vehicles have Lincolnshire registration numbers.

Lincolnshire registration details from the Lincolnshire Archives:-

Car no. BE901 - Parsons Wright, Wold Newton Manor, 12 Horse Power Humber, Double Phaeton, rotunda body, carmine yellow lines, fitted with hood and screen. 19 hundredweight, private, 17th May 1910. Sold 10th March 1915 to Charles Prestwood, Livery Stables, North Thoresby and used as puclic transport.

This photograph was taken by the same Scarborough photographer as the Fulnetby photo on this site (no. 181).
