A wonderful portrait of Lady Audrey Georgiana Florence Tennyson (1854-1916), wife of Hallam Tennyson, 2nd Baron Tennyson (1852-1928), son of the Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Poet Laureate and one of Lincolnshire's most famous sons.

Lord Hallam Tennyson succeeded Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, Bart., as Governer and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of South Australia (1899-1902). He was then appointed as the second Governor-General of Australia (1903-1904).

Lady Audrey Tennyson was the daughter of Mr Charles John Boyle and Zacyntha Antonia Lorenzina, née Moore.
