Title: Holy Cross Cemetery, Scopwick
Author: P. M. Fenwick

The well-kept, tranquil cemetery in Vicarage Lane, Scopwick. This is the burial ground for Holy Cross Church in Scopwick.

In the cemetery are 50 Commonwealth WWII burials and 5 German war graves. Also, there's the grave of George Harrod of the 2nd Kesteven Bn. Home Guard who was tragically killed whilst off-duty in 1942.

The grave of John Gillespie Magee (see previous photo) is on the left of this picture, marked with a small Canadian flag.

Wing Commander N. B. Petersen (RCAF) is also buried here.

The names on the German war graves here are:

Walter Börner, Günther Wolff, Helmut Knorr, Karl-Heinz Krusewitz and Kurt Semlitschka. The last four were killed when their Dornier aircraft was shot down. Walter Börner was, presumably, a POW as he died in 1946.
