Title: Grimsby Docks; Packing Herring for N. H. Catchpole
Author: Unknown. (H. G. Branded?)
Date: A May 2019 image taken directly from an original c1918 photographic postcard

A superb, clear picture of activity at Grimsby Docks taken about the end of World War I and produced on a real photographic postcard. It shows dock workers packing fish (herring?) with lots of funnels and rigging belonging to to trawlers visible in the background. It's possible to work out that it says N. H. Catchpole on the barrels. N. H. Catchpole Jr. was a Fish Salesman (Ecoreur) of 7, Herring & Mackerel Market, Lowestoft. He was also Consul for Belgium.
