Title: Grimsby AFS Breast Badge (1938-1941)
Author: Paul M. Fenwick
Date: January 2017

A rare survivor from WWII. This AFS (Auxiliary Fire Sevice) breast badge was once sown to a pair of overalls. The AFS was formed when war seemed likely in 1938 and superceded by the NFS (National Fire Service) in August 1941.

Note: the borough of Grimsby AFS became part of the Louth Group 10 of the NFS.
