Author: W. E. Roberts, photographer, 14 Eastgate, Louth
Date: An October 2018 scan of an original c1910 real photo postcard. Postcard sent on 29th November 1911.

The hamlet of Girsby lies in the civil parish of Burgh on Bain. The baroque-style entrance, with sculpted foxes, remains today.

Girsby Manor, demolished in the mid-20th Century, belonged to the Fox family hence the foxes on the gate piers. The gateway was constructed in c1840 and reconstructed by John St. Vigor Fox in 1905. (His name and date can be found on the structure.) The structure is Grade II Listed.
