Cleethorpes; St Peter's Avenue cWW2

Author: Unknown
Date: A January 2019 scan of an original WW2 era photographic postcard

An original real photographic postcard showing a well animated view in St Peter's Avenue about the time of the Second World War. The view is looking along the avenue from the junction with the High Street/Isaac's Hill and shows a lot of activity.

The white circles on the trees help to date the images as they were painted on during the War for safety when lights on vehicles were restricted. The white on the rear mudguard of the bicycle may be there for the same reason.

The Trinity Methodist Church in the background has been demolished and the site is now the car park next to Boots.
