Title: Beatrice (Beattie) Wright by Slingsby of Lincoln (c1875)
Author: Robert Slingsby
Date: December 2016 scan of the original c1875 photograph

On the reverse of this charming, old portrait of a young lady is written 'Beattie Wright'. I have no more details about her. The photo came from Australia!

Robert Slingsby was an accomplished photographer working at 168 High Street, Lincoln. He was born in 1839 and died in 1895. His most important contribution to the world of photography was his research into flash lighting. In 1890 he was granted a patent for his device that synchronised a flash lamp with a camera shutter. A Lincoln man of significance!
