Bayons Manor was a rare example of a Victorian stately home and was in the style of an extravagent, neo-gothic style castle with a moat and drawbridge. It was built by Charles Tennyson d'Eyncourt, the uncle of the famous Lincolnshire poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson. This impressive manor house was built between the years 1836 and 1842 and was demolished following years of neglect after its use by the army during WWII.

It's really sad that this impressive building was blown up and is no more! Have a look for more photos on the web.....
