Date: A February 2018 scan of an original 1940s billhead

Albert Heward Parker was born in Alford, Lincolnshire in 1875. He was the tenth of twelve children born to Thomas James Parker and Ann(ie) Maria (née Bett).

Albert married Lizzie Woods in 1901. In that year, the census records him as being a journeyman butcher in Alford. They had two children, Thomas Albert Parker (born 1906) and Margaret Parker (born 1921). Thomas Albert Parker studied to become a pharmacist and eventually part-owned several 'Parker & Spyvee' chemist's shops in Grimsby / Cleethorpes.

By 1922, Albert had his first butcher's shop at 122 & 124 Victoria Street, Grimsby. He later opened a second shop at 429 Grimsby Road in Cleethorpes. ("A. H. Parker" could still be made out over this shop in 2017 whilst the premises were being renovated.)

Albert and Lizzie lived at 12 Abbey Road, Grimsby. Albert died in 1957 and Lizzie died in 1977.
