332nd Service Squadron Invitation to a Dance in Grimsby

Author: 332nd Service Squadron
Date: A July 2018 scan of an original 1943 dance invitation

The 332nd Service Squadron was associated with USAAF Station 345 based at RAF Goxhill (8th Air Force).

I imagine that these 1943 invitations were handed out by American servicemen to the young ladies of Grimsby in the hope that they would attend the dance in the Westward Ho Barracks. Perhaps this invitation survives because it was kept as a reminder of a wonderful evening?

I wonder where Sam Snelling's Orchestra came from.

The Westward Ho Barracks, Grimsby still survive and, today, is an Army Reserve Centre.
