1940 Lincolnshire Home Guard Blouse

Author: MP
Date: A modern photo of an entirely original and untouched item of serge battle dress clothing with a May 1940 dated maker's and size label.

The rare, printed Lincolnshire Home Guard shoulder patches are famous for being a styalised Lincoln imp badge rather than a Battalion number. The eyes here have been highlighted with red cotton stitches. I wonder if this was common practise?

The shoulder board insignia are those of a Lieutenant Colonel (Battalion Commander). The bar below the imp is a WWI wound stripe.

The blouse is part of a private collection in Lincoln. The owners are seeking the names of potential original owners.
