Title: Lincoln Cathedral from the Air during WWII
Author: The Air Ministry
Date: November 2016 scan of the original WWII era photograph
Comments:

A welcoming landmark for Lincolnshire bomber crew returing from Germany.

There's an incredible level of detail in this photo which was sourced from Germany. Going by the shadows, it was taken in the middle of the day but there are very few vehicles on the roads and few people out walking.

The Church of St Paul in the Bail can be seen (upper right).
