The wonderful, new International Bomber Command Centre was officially opened on 12th April 2018. The Centre is located on Canwick Hill in "Bomber County". Lincoln Cathedral can be seen in the background of the photo.

The spire is 102 feet high - the dimensions of the wingspan of a Lancaster bomber. The spire is encircled by walls of steel carrying the names of 57,871 men and women who gave their lives whilst serving in or supporting Bomber Command.

Nearby is the Chadwick Centre (named after the designer of the Lancaster) which houses exhibitions, a cafe and a shop. Between the Chadwick Centre and the Spire Memorial are the Peace Gardens and a Ribbon of Remembrance.

A visit to the IBCC is both a memorable and humbling experience.
