Comments:

A wonderful and atmospheric image of this once-proud railway station. The station and track looks spotlessly clean and litter-free. Today, the lovely buildings have all gone and the station has the appearance of a bus stop!

The signs on the right are interesting. William Gossage, the founder member of the family which produced Gossages' Dry Soap, was born in Burgh le Marsh, near Skegness. The history of the company and the battle with Lever (Sunlight soap) is an interesting one. The company eventually became part of the Unilever group. The Gossage name was retained, but not revived, by Unilever.
