A wonderful photographic composition!

The ship on the left is the SS Accrington, a passenger and cargo vessel built for the Great Central Railway in 1910. She was built by Earle's Shipbuilding, Hull and operated between Grimsby and Hamburg up to the start of WWII. The Accrington was requisitioned for war service in 1915 and again during WWII. After WWII she operated on the Harwich-Antwerp service until 1951 when she was scrapped.

The Accrington was one of an order of five ships for the Grimsby-Hamburg route, the others being Dewsbury, Blackburn, Bury and Stockport.
