Rupert Henry Dixon MBE of Tetney died in 2002, aged 93. Over his long working life he established a number of successful businesses after starting with nothing. The MBE was awarded for his 55 years' service to local government. In the 1940s Mr Dixon was a haulier with a fleet of 6 lorries. Sporting 'Spillers' livery, this Bedford lorry is proudly displayed in front of Lincoln Cathedral.

Spillers Ltd was a British company that owned flour milling operations, operated bakeries and also sold pet food and equine feeds. The brand name still exists today.
